Evergreen OpalAir Surface Controller
Discover the OpalAir, a therapeutic surface designed to meet the needs of high-risk complex clients. Engineered to prevent and manage skin injuries, the OpalAir uses alternating pressure and low air loss therapies, enhancing pressure redistribution. The higher air flow rate actively reduces moisture and humidity, creating an optimal environment for healing.

Using intuitive design, the OpalAir offers a user-friendly experience for clinicians, ensuring ease of operation. The 'Auto-Detect' feature automatically configures optimal pressure, streamlining setup and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance. Additionally, 'Auto-Fowler' automatically adjusts air flow to the sacral/pelvic area when the bedhead is raised, preventing bottoming-out and ensuring enhanced protection for high-risk bony areas. These smart features make the OpalAir suitable for facilities and diverse patient care environments.

The OpalAir features clinical design elements that minimize agitation, elevate skin protection, and enhance overall client comfort, fostering an atmosphere conducive to restorative sleep and accelerated healing. Improve your patient care experience with the OpalAir—a fusion of intelligent technology and thoughtful design, tailored to meet the evolving demands of modern healthcare.

“Another OT recommend the OpalAir, and after a few weeks my clients pressure injuries began to heal. The client found the surface to be quiet and comfortable.”

Andrea, OT for Alberta Health Services

"We have a resident with advanced dementia and a Stage 3 coccyx wound that was not healing. After transitioning to the OpalAir, the wound showed significant improvement in just a few weeks and is now fully healed. The OpalAir surface is easy for our clinicians to use and remains a reliable solution in long-term care".

Clinical Features

Evergreen Surfaces Alternating Pressure Therapy Animation

Alternating Pressure Therapy

1-in-3 air cells gently inflate and deflate to enhance pressure redistribution and promote blood flow to high-risk tissues allowing greater oxygenation and healing. ‘SmoothCell’ technology facilitates gentle cell movement and ensures clients remain stable and unaffected by the surface movement.
Evergreen Surfaces Low Air Loss Animation

True Low Air Loss Therapy

Continuous high air flow controls microclimate (temperature and humidity) suitable to promote wound healing. Promotion of skin strength and integrity through reduced moisture buildup.
Evergreen Surfaces Auto-Detect Animation

'Auto-Detect'

Auto-Detect’ technology automatically calibrates optimal pressure based on bodyweight and surface area. This improves the efficiency of set-up, reducing the need for on-going caregiver adjustments.

Other Clinical Features

'Auto-Fowler'

Automatic increase of air to sacral/pelvic area when bedhead is raised to reduce risk of bottoming-out and ensure protection for high-risk bony areas.

‘HeelRelief’

Lower pressure under the lightweight, bony ankle and heel areas to promote additional immersion and pressure redistribution.

'StaticPillow'

Motionless head section to promote head and neck positioning and reduce potential disturbance to the client.

'SmoothCell'

Cells alternate slowly and keeps clients at a level height. This ensures clients remain stable and unaffected by the surface movement.

Cool/Warm Air function

Allows clients to maintain a comfortable temperature to promote acceptance of the surface and enhance restorative sleep.

'EasyCover'

Cover easily removed for cleaning/ disinfecting and can be laundered. Ease of cleaning ensures infection protection.

Power Outage Coverage

2.5'' air pads provide coverage during a power-outage.

Low Noise Pump

Quiet pump decreases irritation and promotes a desirable sleep environment.

'Auto-Firm'

Mattress cells inflate to max for caregiver management. After 20 minutes the system automatically returns to the previously selected Therapeutic Mode.

Therapeutic Modes

Evergreen Surfaces Alternating Pressure Therapy Animation

Alternating Pressure Therapy

1-in-3 air cells gently inflate and deflate to promote safe offloading of pressure while maintaining sufficient body contact to reduce risk of peak pressures. Cells alternate slowly to ensure clients remain stable and unaffected by the surface movement. The 'SmoothCell' design promotes gentle cell movement reducing shear and friction.
Evergreen Medical Surfaces Therapeutic Modes Pulsate Therapy

Pulsate Therapy

Promotes increased capillary blood flow enhancing circulation and oxygenation delivery to compromised tissues, essential for wound healing.
Evergreen Surfaces Auto-Detect Animation

Constant Low Pressure Mode (CLP) Therapy

Air cells maintain at a lower pressure to allow greater body immersion. This constant level of air promotes pressure redistribution and reduction of peak pressures for frail, palliative or hypersensitive clients who cannot tolerate cell movement.
