Evergreen Medical Products OpalAir Turn Surface
The OpalAir Turn is designed to prevent and manage skin injuries through the use of lateral rotation therapy combined with alternating pressure and low air loss. This dynamic combination not only enhances pressure distribution but also facilitates caregiving activities.

With a high airflow rate, the surface is particularly well-suited for clients with moisture issues, offering assistance in moisture reduction, pressure redistribution, and optimal positioning. For clients requiring repositioning overnight, the OpalAir Turn is designed to effortlessly and gently reposition individuals, ensuring both effective care and enhanced comfort throughout the night.

'Auto-Detect' automatically sets the optimal pressure, and reduces the need for complex set-up and maintenance which makes the surface suitable for all patient care environments. Moreover, the OpalAir Turn boasts smart features like 'Auto-Fowler,' which automatically adjusts air distribution to the sacral/pelvic area when the bedhead is raised. This not only mitigates the risk of bottoming-out but also ensures enhanced protection for high-risk bony areas.

Transform your patient care experience with the OpalAir Turn—a fusion of smart technology and thoughtful design.

Clinical Features

OpalAir Turn Clinical Features: Lateral Rotation Therapy Animation

Lateral Rotation Therapy

The lateral rotation functions (Left Turn, Full Turn or Right Turn) can be used with Alternate, Pulsate or CLP (static) modes.
Evergreen Surfaces Alternating Pressure Therapy Animation

Alternating Pressure Therapy

1-in-3 air cells gently inflate and deflate to enhance pressure redistribution and promote blood flow to high-risk tissues allowing greater oxygenation and healing. ‘SmoothCell’ technology facilitates gentle cell movement and ensures clients remain stable and unaffected by the surface movement.
Evergreen Surfaces Low Air Loss Animation

True Low Air Loss Therapy

Continuous high air flow controls microclimate (temperature and humidity) suitable to promote wound healing.
Evergreen Surfaces Auto-Detect Animation

'Auto-Detect'

Auto-Detect’ technology automatically calibrates optimal pressure based on bodyweight and surface area. This improves the efficiency of set-up, reducing the need for on-going caregiver adjustments.

Other Clinical Features

'Auto-Fowler'

Automatic increase of air to sacral/pelvic area when bedhead is raised to reduce the risk of bottoming-out and ensure protection for high-risk bony areas.

'HeelRelief'

Lower pressure under the lightweight, boy ankle and heel areas to promote additional immersion and pressure redistribution.

'StaticPillow'

Motionless head section to promote head and neck positioning and reduce potential disturbance to the client.

'SmoothCell'

Cells alternate slowly and keep clients at a level height. This ensures clients remain stable and unaffected by the surface movement.

Cool/Warm Air function

Allows clients to maintain a comfortable temperature to promote acceptance of the surface and enhance restorative sleep.

'EasyCover'

Cover easily removed for cleaning/disinfecting and can be laundered. Ease of cleaning ensures infection protection.

Power Outage Coverage

2.5'' air pads provide coverage during a power-outage.

Low Noise Pump

Quiet pump decreases irritation and promotes a desirable sleep environment.

'Auto-Firm'

Mattress cells inflate to max for caregiver management. After 20 minutes the system automatically returns to the previously selected Therapeutic Mode.

Therapeutic Modes

Evergreen Surfaces Alternating Pressure Therapy Animation

Alternating Pressure Therapy

1-in-3 air cells gently inflate and deflate to promote safe offloading of pressure while maintaining sufficient body contact to reduce risk of peak pressures. Cells alternate slowly to ensure clients remain stable and unaffected by the surface movement. The 'SmoothCell' design promotes gentle cell movement reducing shear and friction.
Evergreen Medical Surfaces Therapeutic Modes Pulsate Therapy

Pulsate Therapy

Promotes increased capillary blood flow enhancing circulation and oxygenation delivery to compromised tissues, essential for wound healing.
Evergreen Surfaces Auto-Detect Animation

Constant Low Pressure Mode (CLP) Therapy

Air cells maintain at a lower pressure to allow greater body immersion. This constant level of air promotes pressure redistribution and reduction of peak pressures for frail, palliative or hypersensitive clients who cannot tolerate cell movement.

OpalAir Turn FAQs

Evergreen surfaces should only be used under the guidance of a health professional. Specific clinical applications should be based on client physical and functional assessments.

How do I maintain an Evergreen control unit?
